• Work collaboratively with the Performance and Pathway Manger and organizational leadership to execute program strategy.

• Build a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture rooted in respect, effort, and national pride.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, staff, families, clubs, and regional associations.
• Represent the national program professionally in media, public events, and stakeholder engagements.

• Collaborate with regional coaches and development staff to strengthen the national talent pathway.
• Deliver coach education sessions, workshops, and mentoring to uplift nationwide coaching capability.
• Support national development initiatives and talent ID events.

• Significant coaching experience at elite, national, or international level.
• Proven track record in developing high-performance athletes and teams.
• Strong understanding of international competition standards and trends.
• Demonstrated success in performance planning, team selection, and in-game management.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary support teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship building skills.

• High Performance or Advanced Coaching Certification (or international equivalent)
• Experience in New Zealand’s sporting system or similar high performance environments.
• Background working with youth, senior, or professional athletes in structured performance pathways.

• Professional, ethical, and values driven leadership style.
• Ability to inspire athletes, staff, and stakeholders.
• Strong problem solving, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure.
• Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and international best practice.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Clean police vetting and child-safety clearance.
• Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one promptly).

Board of Directors Vacancy – Elected Director

Baseball NZ is seeking applications for one elected board member with experience and passion in sport governance and/or baseball, that can add value and professionalism to the Sport of Baseball in NZ.

The Baseball NZ Board is continually seeking individuals who bring diversity of thought, perspective and strategic thinking to enhance board decision-making.  We are committed to attracting, recruiting, developing, promoting and retaining a diverse group of experienced individuals, who will help drive the NSO’s performance – from a governance and management perspective. Baseball New Zealand is always on the lookout for volunteers to assist in running the game.

Dedicated, friendly volunteers are the cornerstone of all great sports and baseball is no different. We’re looking for volunteers with a wide variety of skills and experience to shape our operations for athletes, officials and fans. Our goal is to create a volunteer-centric program that encompasses capable, committed and connected volunteers, who have a passion for helping young athletes achieve their goals.

Baseball New Zealand requires assistance in all facets of the game, umpires, scorers, tournament officials, administrators, sponsorship specialists and anyone who just wants to be part of the team working to make baseball the most popular summer sport in New Zealand.
