Baseball Scorekeeping
Every pitch, hit, and run in baseball tells a story — and scoring is how we capture that story. In New Zealand, official scorers play a vital role in recording the details of each game, from the first pitch to the final out. Scoring ensures accuracy for player statistics, team records, and national competition results, while also preserving the history of the game for players and fans alike.
Whether you’re new to the sport or looking to deepen your involvement, learning baseball scoring is a great way to stay close to the action and contribute to the growth of the game in Aotearoa.
Get Involved
Scorers are essential to the game, and there’s always room for more people to join the team. If you’d like to learn how to score, become accredited, or volunteer at local and national events, check out our resources and training opportunities. It’s a rewarding way to support baseball and be part of the action on and off the diamond.
